Hello Friends! A new issue has arisen in India since few days, India Vs Bharat. On 5th September, times Now reported that Modi government will likely bring a resulation in the Parliament to change the name of the country. The name could be changed from India to Bharat. As soon as this news spread, some people started taking sides on social media. Some said India India is better. Others believe Bharat is better. Some biased media anchors ran polls on this.
Asking people what should be the name of our country. I mean after 70 years of independence, they are running polls on what should be the name of aur country.
Some politicians have reached the point where they have started saying that the word “India” is an insult coined by the British. As claimed by BJP politician Harnath singh yadav. Amid all this controversy, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that these were all rumours, and the name “India” wouldn’t be removed.
So the question arises, how did the issue begin?
What is the real reason behind this controversy?
And why is India being pitted against Bharat?
Let’s understand this in today’s blog.
First of all, let’s get one thing clarified, I’m sure all of you know this, but if some people are having doubts, then let’s clarify it for them.
What is the first line of the first article of the Indian Constitution?
“India, that is Bharat, shall be a union of states.”

Look at the picture carefully what is written here. And I have written in bold words as you can see. I am telling you again. “India, that is Bharat.” This is written in English version of our Constitution. But if you want to see the Hindi version of the Constitution, then in its first line it is written “Bharat, means India, will be a Union of States.” (ΰ€ΰ€Ύΰ€°ΰ€€,ΰ€ ΰ€°ΰ₯ΰ€₯ΰ€Ύΰ€€ ΰ€ΰ€ΰ€‘ΰ€Ώΰ€―ΰ€Ύ, ΰ€°ΰ€Ύΰ€ΰ₯ΰ€―ΰ₯ΰ€ ΰ€ΰ€Ύ ΰ€Έΰ€ΰ€ ΰ€Ήΰ₯ΰ€ΰ€Ύ / )

Read it and it is clearly shown in the pictures given above.
If you look at the name of our Constitution, then in English, it is known as the Constitution of India and in Hindi, it is known as Bharat’s Constitution. ( ΰ€ΰ€Ύΰ€°ΰ€€ ΰ€ΰ€Ύ ΰ€Έΰ€ΰ€΅ΰ€Ώΰ€§ΰ€Ύΰ€¨ )
What does this show?
It shows that the great people who fought for aur independence, used 2 names for our country. India and Bharat.
The word ‘Bharat’ was used while Hindi and Devanagari script was used.

And the word “India’ was used when writing in English.

And this mention was not just mentioned once or twice, but rather was mentioned many times.
Article 52 of the Constitution “president of India”. Article 63, “vice President of India”. Article 124, “Supreme Court of India”. “Chief Justice of India”.
If we search for the word with Ctrl+F in the Constitution’s handbook, the we find that the words India or Indian are mentioned more than 900 times. Apart from this, the country’s core institutions and organisations have used this name.
- Election Commission of India.
- Indian Penal Code.
- Indian Army.
- Indian Navy.
- Indian Airforce.
- Indian Railways.
- Reserve Bank of India.
- Indian Administrative Services.
- Indian Institute of Technology.
- Coal India Limited.
- Steel India Authority Limited.
In fact, the ISRO that took us to the moon. It’s full form is the Indian Space Research Organisation. If you look at our Indian passport, what is written on the front page?
Republic of India.
And what is written on top of it in Hindi?
ΰ€ΰ€Ύΰ€°ΰ€€ ΰ€ΰ€£ΰ€°ΰ€Ύΰ€ΰ₯ΰ€―
So this pattern shoul be very clear by now. Whenever our country’s name is written in English, the name “India’ is being used. And when we write in Hindi, we call it “Bharat’. It is not strange to use two different names in two different languages. This is done in many countries. The rest of the world calls China as ‘China’ because the name ‘China’ is used in English. But in Chinese, the name of the country is Zhongguo. If you want to know about China, a superpower country,/ china superpower country part 2 you can read by clicking on the link.
So that’s all for today, I hope you understand what I want to say. take care! good bye! π«
